What is Somatic movement therapy?
Somatic therapy is very much about releasing tension from the body. Holding tension often unconsciously in the muscles can distort the natural alignment of our body which creates discomfort and pain.
This can easily slip into a chronic situation of holding the body in a distorted position eg. one shoulder is lower than the other, one hip is lower, the head cant turn to the side, the back is painful and becomes stiff. When we focus mindfully on releasing the muscles which are holding the tension and pulling us out of line we can relieve the distortion and the pain can be dramatically reduced. Over time with self-care exercises those muscles will learn how to release tension. The somatic movements are done very slowly and mindfully in order to make a connection with the brain cells. The brain can then make a memory of how to release and eventually you learn the method, the pain goes away

Looking after your physical body for Ascension
'With their usual alacrity my guides sent me Carol Yates, a lovely, gentle lady, who talked to me enthusiastically about Somatics Movement Therapy. This consists of simple movements, done very slowly to train the muscles to relax. She took me through some exercises and I practised them for a little while each day. I could not believe the difference! The ache in my back simply went and it felt fluid. All the shooting pains down my arms from my stiff shoulders vanished. I felt I was walking taller.
Carol describes Somatics as self-care exercises to relieve pain, re-align the body, manage anxiety, regulate the nervous system and more.
Her voice is so soothing, that it takes me into a lovely meditative state whenever I listen to the recording of the exercises. I told her that I couldn’t imagine anything more healing than a whole weekend of Somatics. What an ascension boost. And she has agreed to do a weekend retreat in the New Forest in July with limited numbers! I have booked my space already!' Diana Cooper
